'Tis the season to decorate with icing, marshmallows, and gum drops (while trying unsuccessfully not to consume most of your supplies)! This year the Fairmont Hotel offered an adult version of it's annual gingerbread house decorating event. Candy, crafting, and cocktails....there was no way I could pass this up! After enjoying some holiday hors d'oeuvres and festive sips, it was time to get down to business. Pastry Chef James Wroblewski gave us a demo before we began work on our own candy creations. Although my end product probably looked more like those done in the children's class, we all had a great time and it was amazing to see what unique ideas can spring from bowls of licorice and peppermints. Hopefully this inspires you to get together with your own friends and family and create something delicious this holiday season!
