Happy Friday friends! What are you looking forward to this weekend? I'll be up bright and early Saturday shooting some new blog photos with the talented Lauren of Wellesley and King. Then, I plan on hopefully (fingers crossed) getting my decorating down around the house. Of course we waited until it's freezing out to put the lights up outside! I hope you enjoy today's Friday Favorites round-up. It's a nice mixture of ways to save money (who couldn't use that this time of year), a recipe to cozy up with and my favorite way to stretch those days between shampoos!
1. Favorite website of the week!
I stumbled upon this website several weeks ago when I was searching for a dupe of a living room rug I really wanted, but couldn't quite afford. The website is called Copy Cat Chic and it's sort of the best thing ever. The editors basically feature some of the most coveted interior design pieces and then find a dupe that's way less strain on your wallet. They also do full room designs and link all of the items for your shopping convenience. The picture below is one of the many copy cat items they have featured recently.
2. Favorite way to make money while shopping!
Do you shop online? Are you using Ebates? If the answer is no, I need to let you in on this little secret. Ebates is truly the easiest way to get money back (yes real money) simply for shopping online and buying the things you were already planning on buying. Whenever I tell people about Ebates, they tend to give me that skeptical, this "sounds to good to be true" look. I'm telling you it really works (and no they are not paying me to say this). Here's how it works. Click here and create an account (it's free and you'll get $10 toward your first purchase). Now, whenever you go online to shop instead of going to the retailer website, you'll go to Ebates first. For example, you want to buy a pair of boots at Nordstrom. Go to ebates.com, search "Nordstrom," and click next to the cash back. Now, you'll be directed to Nordstrom's website and you can shop your little heart out - seriously there's nothing more to do. There are a ton of retailers - Sephora, ASOS, American Eagle - and even sites like Amazon and Etsy. Each retailer offers different cash back percentages and they change daily. The other day, Macy's was offering 10% cash back. That means if I spent $200 at Macy's, I would have earned $20 from Ebates. Every quarter, Ebates will send you what they call a "big fat check" in the mail. I've already earned $268.63 using the site. Real money, mailed to my front door every three months simply for shopping online. Seriously, what are you waiting for?!
3. Favorite Pin of the week!
Like any modern young woman, I occasionally lose hours of my life in the wonderful world that is Pinterest. A few days ago, I was searching for holiday treats and drinks and stumbled across this recipe for slow-cooker cranberry apple cider. The original recipe if from a cooking blog, The Recipe Rebel. Now, I haven't tried the recipe yet, but it looks and sounds amazing.
4. Favorite cold weather accessories!
This time of year can begin to get brutal outside, but that doesn't mean your style has to go into hibernation. It's easy to look super chic all winter (and stay warm) with some of my favorite cold weather accessories below!
5. Favorite new product in my beauty routine!
Confession time: I despise washing my hair. I enjoy the clean feeling afterwards, but the whole process of washing and drying is totally unenjoyable to me. That being said, I have tried a lot of dry shampoos. Some have been ok and others don’t seem to do much of anything. However, that all changed when I read some positives reviews about the Living Proof brand and decided to give it a try. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo is definitely going to become a staple in my beauty arsenal. It’s a powder in spray form and it seems to really absorb the dirt and oil from my hair. It also has a great scent. If you are like me and want to stretch your time between shampoos, I would definitely give this product a try.
6. Favorite holiday decor for $1!
Guys, decorating for the holidays can be so much fun. I shared some of my absolute favorite holiday decor in this post. However, all of those bows and tinsel can quickly add up - making your holidays a little less merry. This year, I've tried to maintain a balance between a few splurges and some great steals. Believe it or not, Dollar Tree has a ton of great holiday items. Now, let's get one thing straight - not all $1 stores are created equal. I prefer Dollar Tree as they are typically clean, organized and literally everything is $1. Check out some of my fave picks below.
