Friday Favorites

'Friday Favorites' is back!  I guess you could say this is like a regular thing now, right?  I did it twice!  I love sharing my favorite things of the past week with you!  It gives me a chance to look at the things that brought a smile to my face, made me chuckle, warmed my heart, inspired me, or made me think!  And sometimes I just like sharing really good deals with you!  Read on and let me know what you think of this week's favorites!

1. Favorite Sale of the Week!

I am starting Friday Favorites off with another awesome sale because truly, who doesn't love a good sale?!  Sorel is currently have an Ah-mazing sale on their website.  We still may have a month or two of boot weather left and you will be so happy next winter when you have these great boots ready to go!  And this isn't a lame sale where only the boots you don't want are on sale.  Most of the boots are on sale - up to 50% off!  I am not going to get upset that I paid full-price for the Slimpack Riding boot below.  I will just share with all of you that it's now majorly discounted.

2. Favorite Place to be a Yogi!

The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is bringing back it's popular "Yoga in the Square" and taking it inside during the entire month of February.  Classes will be held every Sunday in February at the PPG Wintergarden at 10 AM.  Spots are first come first serve and you need to bring your own mat.  The best part?  Classes are free!

3.  Favorite way to apply foundation!

If you ever read any beauty blogs or watch any beauty gurus on youtube, chances are you have heard of the Beauty Blender.  This cute little pink sponge is hailed as one of the must-have beauty tools.  I've used sponges in the past to apply my foundation without amazing results, so I had my doubts about this little tool.  However, after just one use, I was 100% hooked.  Simply wet the sponge, I squirt some foundation on my hand like a paint palette, and then dab the foundation on your face.  The coverage is smooth and creamy and your skin looks moisturized.  My go-to foundations lately?  Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup and Too Faced Born This Way Foundation (both full coverage).  Another little secret which the beauty gurus might disown me for...but I've used the  Swissco Precision Blending Sponge below.  Honestly, I think it works great and it's almost 75% less than the price of the Beauty Blender!

4.  Favorite new way to shop!

Guys!  I spent an evening with Christen of the Thrifty Yinzer and she totally opened my eyes to the world of Goodwill and Thrift Store shopping!  Christen actually takes clients on styling sessions at local thrift shops.  She shops for them beforehand, pulling various items and then has the client come in and try on the clothes while receiving awesome style advice!  I don't want to give too much away because my thrifting trip will actually be up on the blog next week - so check back to find out how much the client paid for 32 items!  (It will blow your mind!)

5.  Favorite Wedding Trend!

Earlier this week, we were talking all about the wedding rules to break!  Today I am sharing one of the favorite trends I am seeing - "naked" wedding cakes...meaning basically there is no outer layer of icing and you see the actual cake.  However, as you can see from this photo, there's not too much naked about them!  Do a quick Pinterest search and there are some exquisite options out there!

6. Favorite Accessory on My Wish List!

I consider myself pretty in the know when it comes to designers, brands, trends, etc.  However, I must admit I had never heard of Nixon until my co-worker came back from NYC sporting one of these eye-catching watches.  I feel like it was fate when a few weeks later I was at Nordstrom and I noticed the watch on the girl that was helping me at the register.  It was black and gold, which always catches my eye, so I asked her what kind it was.  "Nixon," she excitedly replied.  She told me she had gotten it as a Christmas present and that they had them downstairs in the jewelry department.  I controlled myself and came straight home, but of course hoped online to see what I had been missing out on.  The website is full of beautiful, classic, clean designs and gorgeous color combinations!  Oh and they totally won't break the bank!  The options below start at $60 and most average around $125 - $150.  So far on my wish list - the Kensington Leather in black and gold, the 'Small Time Teller' Leather also in black and gold. and the Kensington Leather in navy and gold (the watch comes in 21 colors - how's a girl to only pick one?!).  And how gorgeous would this coral and navy color combo be in the summer?!

What would you like to see in Friday favorites?  A favorite book?  restaurant?  lipstick color?  Comment below and I'll try and include my picks in up-coming Friday Favorites!  Have a great weekend friends!
