Phew! Last week was a long one! The first wedding of the season was this past Saturday, so I didn't get to post as much as I normally like to. The good news is that I'm back this week with some great new posts and I can't wait to share some photos from the wedding I helped to coordinate. The wedding was held outside, so of course I was checking my weather app like a crazy person the entire week leading up to Saturday. As luck would have it, the entire day stayed dry except for the 15 minutes where the bride was walking down the aisle and the ceremony began! What does a wedding planner do when a light sprinkle turns into a downpour and you look up to see 130 guests, the bridal party, the bride, the groom, and the officiant running to get under the tent?! Well first you momentarily panic. Then after about 30 seconds, you take a deep breath, dry off the bride, assure her it's good luck to have rain on your wedding day, assemble the guests under the tent, and resume the ceremony like nothing ever happened! (Am I selling you on the idea of hiring a wedding coordinator yet?) I feel like at least I now have a great response to that classic interview question, "Tell me about a time you had to make a quick decision under pressure." Other than that moment, the day went smoothly and everyone had a blast!
So for today's post, I am sharing one of my favorite new blouses in a great black and white gingham print. I mentioned gingham in my previous post about mixing patterns. For this outfit though, I decided to keep it simple and pair it with some black skinny denim. Can I let you in on a crazy secret?! These jeans were $7.90. Seriously. I wouldn't have believed it either unless I had walked up to the counter and saw the total with my very own eyes. I actually kept looking back as I was leaving the store because I thought at any minute they would realize the error and come running after me! I just purchased jeans that cost less than my lunch. I also figured that after washing them once, they would probably fade or disintegrate - but they have already survived two washes and are still as good as new! I also brought Manny back for a visit in this post. If you know me or have been following along here, this bundle of fur is my best friend, the love of my life, and the one thing that will make me smile even on the worst of days. Am I a crazy dog lady? Maybe. And that's totally fine with me.
Enjoy the week friends!
