Spring Blush Essentials

I feel like I blink and I'm back to Sunday recapping my weekend and wondering where the time has gone!  I like to try and balance the weekend with equal amounts productivity and organization, relaxation, and time with friends or family.  More often than not, things don't balance out - but I am getting better.  Saturday night I went to eat at the Slippery Mermaid in Sewickley.  How could you not love that name?!  Sunday morning (like 7:30 AM after daylight savings time) I volunteered at Light of Life Rescue Mission.  Whenever I feel like I am beginning to get too inside my own head or too focused on things that don't matter, I like to volunteer my time - I think a new perspective on things can make all the difference.  I don't share this to brag about what a do-gooder I am, but I share it because I strongly encourage you to get involved in causes that are close to your heart.  I think sometimes people are intimidated by the thought of volunteering - or simply don't know where to start.  I recommend just thinking of what causes you feel passionately about, researching some organizations, and then reaching out.  I whole-heartedly believe that we were put here to serve and lift up those around us.  A couple hours in your day can make all the difference in your life and in someone else's.

So enough of my "change the world" speech...it is Monday after all! On a lighter note, I wanted to share this outfit that I wore Saturday night.  This sort of look is perfect for this time of year.  The blazer gives you an extra layer of warmth, but the light colors are totally in line with spring.  I don't usually do "matchy-matchy" and you have to be really careful when you do!  However, I loved the idea of really going crazy with the blush and pairing a blush and gold bag and matching bracelets with a blush blazer.  I found this cute cream blouse at H&M, but you also could just do a white t-shirt underneath.  I paired everything with destroyed skinny jeans - it keeps the look from getting too dressy.  My friend and I were talking on Friday about the "half top knot" hairstyle that's popping up everywhere.  After watching some youtube videos, I decided to give it a try.  It might have looked crazy, but it's always fun to try something new!  See ya later this week friends!
