The Floral Maxi

Last year, I declared the romper the official uniform of summer.  This year, I am strongly leaning toward the floral maxi as my summer "must-have."  I love maxi dresses for their comfort, versatility, and ability to make a statement.  However, my 5 foot nothing stature sometimes causes me to steer away from them.  I needed a dress for my friend's rehearsal dinner and decided to give this one from Lulus a try.  I am so glad I did!  The shorter slip underneath, sheer fabric, and high slit make this dress super flattering - even for us shorties!  The silhouette and flutter sleeves are reminiscent of the maxi dresses of the 70s, while I can't help but have flashbacks to the 90s when I see the floral print.  They say fashion is cyclical right?  (Oh and if you are taller and want to order this dress - I did have to hem it quite a bit - so this will fit taller peeps!)  I took these pics on the water steps on the North Shore.  It's a great spot if you are looking for a fun, free activity for the kiddos!  Check back later this week when I will be sharing my full Pittsburgh Summer Bucket List!
